The Music Department presents a celebration of classical Indian music with a lecture and concert featuring internationally renowned tabla master Pandit Divyang Vakil, a teacher and brilliant composer. His style represents a modern adaptation of the traditional art of Indian classical tabla, a percussion instrument. His compositions appeal to modern sensibilities, flowing with the sound of contemporary music while retaining the classical essence and richness. Tabla Ecstasy, his latest ensemble, includes performers Rushi Vakil, Nishant Mehta, Kaumil Shah and Sahil Patel. This event is supported by The Friends of Music at Queens.
Tickets: Free to all students; $10 for general public at www.queens.edu/fom or call 704 3372213 |
