Nishant is a talented tabla artist, who started his formal training in Indian classical music at the age of 6 under Tabla Guru Pandit Divyang Vakil and has been performing professionally for over 10 years. The enjoyment he gets from playing tabla is clear. His power strikes a cord with audiences.
Nishant has extensive experience performing in India and abroad. He has been apart of dance fusion collaborations supported by the World Music Centrum in Beligum, in addition to performing solos in France, Holland. He also has a long history as an accompanying tabla artist for Kathak dance, playing in major dance festivals such as Khajuraho International Dance Festival, Delhi Kathak Kendra Dance Festival and Modhera Dance Festival amongst others.
Nishant is also a member of Pandit Divyang Vakil’s tabla ensembles, including Tabla Ecstasy, Power of Tabla and Tabla Tarkhat. Additionally, Nishant teaches at Rhythm Riders Music Institute in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
